We look forward to the 48Hours film competition every year. This year, we went really dark with it
For those unfamiliar with the 48Hours Film Competition, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Teams are given a 48 hour window to conceive, write, shoot, and deliver a finished short film. This is our fifth year entering as Team Chillybox, coming off a Grand National Win in 2018 with out film PepTok.
This year, our prompts included.
Genre: Musical / Dance
Element 1: Wind
Element 2: Laughter
Element 3: A double take
Element 4: Overhead Shot
Our finished film – “Like Nobody’s Watching” took out the top spot at the Auckland finals, and won awards for Best Directing and Best Editing. At the Grand National Finals, we were thrilled to place second in the competition nationwide. A huge thank you to everyone involved. We couldn’t have done it with out you!
The quality of films each year is only getting better, and it’s inspiring to see what filmmakers across NZ can come up with in a weekend.
